Heat Recovery Ventilation

Mechanical Heat Recovery Ventilation  (MHRV)

What does it mean?

Heat Recovery Ventilation  gets rid of the old stale air inside your home and replaces it with fresh filtered and pre-heated outdoor air. As the warmer indoor air is sent out - a heat exchanger inside the ventilator extracts the heat and uses it to pre-heat the incoming fresh air.
As we become more energy efficient our homes and buildings have become more insulated. Unlike the old days we live in draught free well insulated buildings. This has brought its own problems.
Stagnant air becomes trapped inside the building and can become contaminated with dust particles, mites, bacteria, pollen, radon and carbon monoxide. We are all aware of the health risks involved. Asthma, hay fever and respiratory problems are on the increase.
Skin ailments, eye irritation, lethargy, sinus problems and even drowsiness are all well know symptoms associated with and aggravated by lack of fresh air.

HRV means that there is a constant supply of fresh pre-heated air entering your home 24 hours a day whilst at the same time it lowers your energy bills and makes your home more energy efficient!
